MERA is based in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, a 3rd largest Russian city located in the central well economically developed part of Russian Federation. It is a very important industrial, scientific and educational center with convenient international transportation and a fully developed infrastructure. Nizhny Novgorod is focused on high-technology manufacturing and holds leading positions in telecom, automotive, aircraft, avionics, semiconductor, nuclear, and chemical industries. The region contributes 2.5 % in all-Russian volume of industrial production and ranks 6th in Russia and the 1st in the Privolzhsky Federal District based on the volume of produced goods. MERA and Nizhny Novgorod State University are engaged in Ericsson Developer Connection program in IMS area. The project is focused on the development of multimedia solutions based on Ericsson Service Development Studio. Within the cooperation program MERA provides its in-depth telecom and IMS expertise required to build IMS applications.

Ever since MERA was founded by a group of professors from Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, the bond between the company and the university has been strengthening steadily thanks to a considerable number of joint research and educational projects.

MERA, NIIT and the Higher School of Economics partnered and established a new department for software engineering (on the basis of the Higher School of Economics) aimed at bridging the gap between the demand of real ICT world and current educational curricula.

NIIT is MERA’s corporate training and personnel development center founded in 1998, it provides industry-leading professional trainings and ensures continuous knowledge build-up for its employees as well as university students.
