MERA Networks gets Governor's Award for Contribution to the Development of the IT Sector in Russia
May 7, 2007— Igor Piruyan, Vice-president of Mera Networks, Eastern Europe's leading provider of Telecom software services with headquarters and R&D center located in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, gets a Governor's Award for Contribution to the development of the Russian IT sector. In Russia the 7-th of May is the Day of Radio, which is to mark the invention of radio. Communication industry employees celebrate this day as their professional holiday. A number of official events are also held this day, among them the Governor's Award Ceremony, which is organized by the regional government to honor the local Telecom companies and their employees for developing the industry in Russia. Igor Piruyan contributed greatly into development of MERA Networks. Under his management MERA Networks expanded its technological expertise and geography of its services. A great amount of work was carried out to get international quality certificates ISO 9001:2000 and TL 9000. With staff of 900 highly skilled engineers MERA Networks provides today software development services to the telecommunication industry leaders, such as Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Ericsson, TietoEnator, and company's activity in this domain is highly appreciated by the government. It is not for the first time that MERA Networks' management team initiative to promote the IT industry development gets an official recognition. Thus in February 2007, Dmitry Ponomarev, President of MERA Networks, received a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Russian Federation. Earlier in 2006 Mr. Ponomarev also received a letter of appreciation from the Governor of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region. |
