MERA Networks Reports Unprecedented Staff Growth

MERA NN R&D Hires 200th Employee Since the Start of the Year and is now 650 Strong

Toronto, ON, Canada — September 6th, 2005.— MERA Networks, a leading IT and telecom software development outsourcing company, announced that its Russian MERA NN R&D Division employed the 200th software engineer since the start of the year 2005.

At the turn of 2004/2005, MERA’s Human Resources team was assigned an ambitious task to boost its recruitment activity and hire 200 software engineers over the year. This challenging staff expansion plan was aimed to help MERA ramp up resources and keep pace with the transition phase for a number of offshore projects that MERA is now launching within the framework of the recent TietoEnator-MERA Telecom R&D Strategic Partnership Contract.

“Our HR has done a great job hiring the brightest talent and select candidates to enable MERA effectively meet our customers’ growing needs,” comments Sergey Drozhilkin, Vice President of Technology for MERA Networks. “More than that, they managed to fulfill our manpower build-up plans over a shorter period – we have grown by 45% in eight months – that’s an unprecedented accomplishment”.

I was really amazed,” says Yury Slepnev, a new member of MERA’s HLR/HSS R&D team. “To find myself the focus of attention and receive such a hearty welcome”.

This is not the ultimate milestone to make a stop at, however. By the close of the year, MERA expects to employ above 100 specialists more and thereby grow till 750 in headcount.
