  Customer:
  A leading information technology company

  Challenge:
  The customer needed to perform full-capacity GSM Home Location Register traffic testing, for which they required an efficient traffic generator capable of simulating large volumes of concurrent calls.

  The universal traffic generator available at the time to the customer required special hardware and was costly to support and enhance. Thus, the customer needed a new compact low cost GSM Home Location Register traffic testing solution to provide for the necessary functionality at a better cost.

  Solution:
  MERA's team developed a service-strong, cost-effective GSM HLR Traffic Generator meeting every customer requirement. The solution was purpose-built to simulate GSM traffic and test HLR capabilities via IP network, to perform runtime measurements, keep logs and statistics and generate user-convenient report files. The product provides for capacity, performance and functionality testing, and allows generation of a high flow of outgoing messages (about 10,000 per second) and on-receipt verification of incoming message contents.

  From the very beginning of the project, MERA's HLR Team got up-to-speed very fast, provided a prompt ramp-up of the project headcount and delivered the product on time and with good quality despite an extremely tight time frame.

  MERA's Sustaining Team provided efficient sustaining and enhancement services showing the same productivity as the customer's team. Later, MERA's collaboration with the customer in the area of product sustaining expanded to the field of digital phones firmware sustenance.

  Customer:
  A world-leading telecom equipment vendor
  
  Challenge:
  The customer needed to perform testing of the Network Switching Subsystem (NSS) component of a GSM/UMTS wireless network and verify its software releases.
  
  Solution:
  MERA's Testing Team carried out successful on-site and off-site operations in support of the activities associated with the verification of the network component. The project was followed by an extended contract for design and maintenance of the product test automation platforms. Upon completion of the task, MERA became an authorized software supplier to the customer's GSM/UMTS R&D Group. To date MERA's team plays a key role in most activities related to the product software verification, design, testing and test automation.
