The partnership of Nortel and MERA Networks dates back to 1991 when the first R&D contract in the domain of antenna measurements was launched. In 1993, MERA became Nortel Networks’ software development, sustenance and testing partner. In 2005, MERA received the Nortel Preferred Supplier award for outstanding quality and service delivery performance. The Preferred Supplier Award was given to MERA in recognition of its commitment to delivery of world-class software development, testing and support service, which has been the foundation to the over-a-decade-long partnership with Nortel in the areas of wireless communications, enterprise and carrier grade communication systems.

In 2005 MERA Networks expanded its footprint in Europe through the award of a telecom R&D strategic partnership contract with TietoEnator — the leading supplier of R&D services for the telecom sector in Europe. Within the framework of this strategic partnership MERA currently provides the complete cycle of development, testing and support services for the TietoEnator SS7 signaling solutions. The scope of assignments to be contracted is expected to grow in the course of the next few years.
