Sustained Excellence in Employee DevelopmentMERA Networks was founded in 1989 as a small software development company with a handful of employees. Since that very start, MERA has been demonstrating a sustained manpower growth that forms a solid base for the company's leadership in the global software outsourcing industry. Over the past three years MERA's headcount increased threefold. This unprecedented personnel growth was made possible through efficient recruitment activities and employee development management policies adopted by the company. The engineering staff of MERA Networks has a high level of professional education and Industry experience. An overwhelming majority of MERA's software engineers are university graduates holding MS degrees in technology or science or the Russian type university engineering diplomas equivalent to the Master's degree. Professional Development at MERAMERA creates and provides opportunities for professional growth of its personnel. All our staff members from new comers through old timers have every opportunity to develop knowledge and acquire skills addressing the specific needs of the projects they are engaged in. Personnel development programs are the cornerstone of MERA's expertise and the driving force for its progress and success. MERA's Russia-based R&D division provides for in-service education of its staff by intensive training in English, software development, object-oriented programming, operating systems, Windows/UNIX system administration, IT management and other areas relevant to the company's activities. Drawing on a Large Pool of Graduate WorkforceWith its R&D facilities located in European Russia, MERA Networks cooperates with local universities and technical colleges to have their students specially trained in programming technologies. Through giving senior students an opportunity to acquire real-life working experience, MERA aims at facilitating their professional and educational growth and, what is most important, forms an abundant pool of skilled workforce to draw from. Student interns work at MERA under supervision of our best software engineers (mentors). Normally, they do a course of IT related studies at Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Information Technologies and a trainee job at MERA R&D Division. Once the training program is completed, the student and the mentor jointly report on the results of their work, and the best and brightest interns get employed with MERA. We at MERA utilize HR management practices with a strong employee focus, which enables us to stay above competitors in the local IT labor market. MERA's personnel development policy forms a solid framework that gives us an opportunity to effectively build up teams of highly trained software engineers and meet our customers' long-term workforce requirements. |
