Executive team

Dmitry Ponomarev has been President of MERA since the day of its inception in 1989. He has built MERA from a small software development firm with a handful of employees to a global software development leader providing services in the most forefront technology areas. The company owes much of its leadership in the Russian software development outsourcing market to Dmitry's personal commitment and contribution.

Prior to starting his entrepreneurial career in 1989, Dmitry was Professor at Nizhniy Novgorod University of Technology. Mr. Ponomarev's academic experience includes serving as a research engineer in the field of antenna measurement. He has more than 70 publications in scientific and technical magazines and holds 12 technological patents. Dmitry Ponomarev is also a founder and Chairman of several telecom companies located in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Yuri Menkov is responsible for the company's financial management, strategic planning, accounting, treasury, and bank and investor relations. Yuri Menkov joined MERA in 1991 as Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining MERA Group, Yuri served as a commercial department manager for a Russian - American joint venture, a major reseller of PCs in the Russian market. Yuri holds a Bachelor's Degree in Radio Engineering from the University of Technology and an MA in Economics from the Public Service Academy, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Igor Piruyan joined MERA as a Technical Director in 1998. Today, he directs the development and implementation of MERA's software R&D programs. Under his supervision the company has significantly expanded its R&D project life cycle management expertise.

Igor has over 20 years of experience in technology-based companies and research institutes, including 10 years of R&D project management. Prior to MERA he served for the PriceWaterhouseCoopers office in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He managed the corporate IT infrastructure and development of finance software for in-house needs. Igor earned his MS from the Department of Calculus Mathematics and Cybernetics at the State University, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Alexey Myakov holds the position of Vice President of Business Development with MERA since 2006, Alexey leads activities aimed at global business opportunities assessment and establishing international business relations.

Prior to MERA Alexey Myakov provided consultancy services on innovative technologies to Nizhny Novgorod Cancer Research Center Foundation. Alexey also was CEO for a group of high-tech businesses engaged in R&D and serial production of novel optical devices and instrumentation equipment. Alexey Myakov has a rich scientific and research background and holds an MS degree in Physics from the State University of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Grigory Burov provides professional management to research and development projects in wireless and enterprise communications domains and coordinates creation of MERA quality programs and adoption of international quality standards (ISO 9001:2000/TL9000).

Grigory joined MERA in 1999 as Software Development Team Leader, he continued as GSM OAM R&D Project Manager and in 2007 he was assigned to the position of a Vice President of Operations. Grigory holds a degree in Radio Electronics and Cybernetics from the University of Technology, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
